7 To 10 Metre Long Reticulated Python!
Monday, June 30th, 2008
At about 1.30am this morning Malaysian time I was heading home. Something very rare and exciting was crossing the road just a few hundred metres from where I live – a huge Reticulated Python! At first I though it was a tree fallen on the road (it was that big) but then when I drove nearer I realized that it was moving out of the road and that it got slimmer towards the end.

Malaysian Car Prices Compared

2002 Toyota MRS
For A second hand Toyota MRS imported directly from Japan with the exact same specifications, condition milage and even colour the price difference is huge. You have to consider that Malaysia is much closer to Japan and than the UK is so the shipping charges will be far less.
Malaysia Price: RM 130,000.00 / GBP 20,000.87
UK Price: GBP 5750.00 / RM 37,215.00
Summary: The car costs RM 92,785.00 more in Malaysia.
Fix WordPress Databases Infected With Spam Links By Automated Hacking Bots
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008
Users of WordPress 2.1 and possibly other versions have been the target of automated spam attacks – which are actually hacks against your site. The hacker has automatically targeted sites using 2.1 using a robot that exploits vulnerabilities in the wordpress code – see this page for more information:

Telekom Malaysia Moves Into Web Browser Hijacking Business
Monday, June 16th, 2008
Telekom Malayisa (TM) has moved into the web browser hijacking business with its “NetMyne” program. NetMyne (http://www.netmyne.com) appears to work by hijacking any call to an unknown web address or malformed web address (ie: missing the .com / .net TLD extension etc).
Telekom Malaysia’s “NetMyne” acts in a similar way to many virus / spyware malware programs. In fact it is Malware and Spyware at the highest level. In order for “NetMyne” to function and spy on your browsing habits and manipulate people into using its service, it hijacks web browsers without any need even for installation on the target machine.
Bin Metadata / Meta Tags And Kill SEO
Tuesday, June 10th, 2008
Should metadata including meta tags be flushed down the toilet?
I’ve been doing a bit of research on a few related topics including search technology and meta data and thought I’d share some of my ideas and findings although there is not much room for further speculation on the web on these topics as they have been over cooked to some extent.
My main issue is with “metadata” and the idea of the semantic web. To the point I think the whole push and initiative is a waste of time and have to agree with many of the comments dating bact to 2001 by Cory Doctorow which can be read here.
Microsoft Windows For Geordies
Friday, June 6th, 2008
Nothing quite like poking fun at fellow compatriots!
I don’t know who is responsible for creating this spoof but it is a “canny” joke. Note – you will need to know what a “Gerodie” is and you probably will need to have tried having a conversation with one before in order to fully undrestand both the meaning and the fun in the jokes…
Malaysian Petrol Prices Go Up
Thursday, June 5th, 2008
Yesterday on the way home driving through KL I was stuck in the traffic jams with thousands of cars and people and was shocked to see the jams were caused by long (sometimes a few kilometers) ques for petrol stations.
My first thought that it must be panik buying – some fools must be sending SMS messages trying to “have a laugh” and scare people into believing that the price of petrol will go up other night without warning.
