Web Design On Linux

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

The perfect system for web designers is based on Linux.  Every program you need and use is free or charge and 99% of them are open source.  You can have an advanced and fully functional system up and ready to start building websites in less than two hours.  And no, you wont find Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft or PhotoShop here, but guess what?  You don’t need all that crap anyway!

Phuket Rescue! An Ornate Paradise Tree Snake - Chrysopelea ornata!

Chrysopelia ornata - Ornate Paradise Tree SnakePhuket, Thailand:

A quick walk to the local shop suddenly became an adventure when I spotted an Ornate Paradise Tree Snake, sometimes called a Golden Tree Snake, Ornate Flying Snake or Golden Flying Snake.

Some might say they are one of the most beautiful snakes in the world with amazing colours and amazing science. These little snakes can “fly” from the trees - although actually they just compress their bodies and then glide to the ground to escape any dangers.

SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 Registration

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

HP 2133 mini note comes with SUSE LinuxHaving just bought a new HP laptop (mini-note 2133) with SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 (SLED 10) pre-loaded I was alarmed to find that Novell is behaving like Microsoft and requires product registration in order to get software updates and install more software on the system. This is mean and cruel and sucks and things should not be done this way, but hay… all of the drivers only work under SLED so we are stuck with it and can’t simply install Kubuntu / Ubuntu etc on the system.

Here is how to register if you have just bought one of these little babies…

(Prepare your HP license number first)
