NVIDIA Geforce Graphics Card On Ubuntu

After hours of trying to get hardware acceleration to work on my old NVIDIA Geforce graphics card on Ubuntu which included whole distribution upgrades – it still won’t work!  I’m not alone with this problem in fact I can’t find one person who has actually got a Geforce 2 mx 400 graphics card to work with hardware acceleration.  Works fine minus the acceleration though…
