Chumphon, Thailand

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

I cut my trip to Cambodia short – in Chumphon, Thailand! I found what was just the perfect place to let the ashes go into the sea. Chumphon is about half way to Cambodia from Kuala Lumpur.

Dr Roopi Running Illegal Abortion Clinic

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

News travels fast online and in free flow – which is why I was not surprised to find ample accounts of evidence suggesting that Dr. Roopi runs an illegal abortion clinic (regardsless of the age of the baby – which means post 3rd trimester).

Steroid Injection To Promote Growth Of Lung Tissue

Friday, October 19th, 2007

We have an appointment on Monday morning for a consultation and most likely an injection of steroids for Lennox.

The steroids will hopefully boost the growth of his lung tissue enough intime for a birth by cesarian section.

Rh Disease Ruled Out?

Friday, October 5th, 2007

We have not had a test done for Rh Disease, even though it is the most common cause of Fetal Hydrops (Hydrops fetalis).  When thinking about it, I can’t remember why it has not been done other than the fact that a few doctors
ruled it out as they did not ”think it was Rh disease”.

This is not good enough, especially as the tests for Thalassemia came back negative.

DNA Testing For Thalassemia / Lennox’s Case

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

There is no cure for thalassemias, and the best treatment available today consists of frequent blood transfusions (every two to three weeks) with iron chelation therapy (e.g. deferoxamine) administered subcutaneously. Bone marrow transplants (hematopoietic stem cell transplantations) and cord blood transplantation with pre-operative myeloablation are potentially curative, though the latter requires further investigation.

Detailed Scans Of Lennox

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

I have just scanned two detailed images from Lennox’s ultrasound scan yesterday. At least this time the doctor involved was good enough to give us printouts and not more concearned with saving paper like the last few doctors. So this time around we have a grand total of 2 images compared to 1 image last time, 0 before that and 1 before that (yes we did try and ask several times, but got lame excuses like – the pictures will be better at the next scan). It goes to show how disconnected many doctors are with the actual feelings of their patients and how much more connected they are with the width of their wallets.

Anyway here are the pics…

Introducing Baby Lennox To The World

Monday, September 3rd, 2007

It is hard to write this blog post. I would like to proudly introduce my son – baby boy Lennox to the world! He is mostly fighting fit and was all smiles at the thorough ultrasound scan last Saturday and very active. Here is a pic of our brave little fighter from the last scan (Fetal anomaly scan) aged about 5 months…
