Road trip from Murcia, Spain to Gibraltar
Monday, October 11th, 2010
The RouteMurcia → Granada → Malaga → Marbella → La Linea De La Conception
Straight line distance: 510KM approx (316 Miles)
More likely distance (inc detours and curvy roads): 600KM (370 Miles)
Murcia Airport
Probably the worst airport in the world. No currency exchange, no working ATMs, no transport. Seriously, how can an airport not even have a money changer and public transport? There are supposed to be buses but it seems there are one or two a day. There are taxis, but they will cost you more than your flight at £40 just to get into Murcia town which is a mere 40KM away! We opted for car hire – the only viable solution despite the constant queue of an entire plane load of people. All they had left apparently was a huge Renault (more of a van than a car really) for 190 Euros a day with a full tank of petrol! Not exactly cheap car hire! The stress levels decreased for a while once we managed to finally hire the car, but quickly rose back up again with trepidation – I’ve never driven on the wrong side of the road before!

King Cobra VS Reticulated Python Photo
Tuesday, January 19th, 2010
Reading Malaysia’s The Star newspaper today I saw one of the best photos they have ever published in their thumbnails section! This amazing action shot by Chin Chee Chun captures one of the most legendary battles of nature – a King Cobra taking on a Reticulated Python.
Malaysian Mantis Photos And Gecko VS Mantis
Thursday, January 7th, 2010
Some beautiful (and some crappy) photos of a Malaysian Mantis (not sure what species but probably a common one). In the end the Mantis was set free and it went straight for a gravid house Gecko for dinner. The Gecko escaped – no animals were harmed during the taking of the photos but I did get bitten by the Mantis

Photos And Videos: Releasing The Baby Reticulated Python Into The Wild
Wednesday, December 30th, 2009
It’s taken a few days to upload these photos and videos thanks to Malaysias super fast broadband speeds. Anyway, finally here they are. The Python started of a bit cold and slow then finally made a snail paced dash for it under some logs and then into some bushes. Maybe something else was already living under the log and forced him out of there – but I wasn’t about to turn over the log in case it was a King Cobra

Allow me to introduce a baby Reticulated Python…
Fishing At Zoo Negara Lake?
Thursday, December 17th, 2009
I checked with the zoo if it’s possible to fish in their lake the other day. Here is the response I got. A bit disappointed because the lake is known to be home to some pretty decent Snakeheads. Response copied below:
